Pfizer Released Ingredients on their COVID-19 Vaccine

Pfizer Inc., an American multinational pharmaceutical corporation had released the ingredients to their COVID-19 vaccine amid fears that a microchip will be planted on human body.

It appears that there are several conspiracy theories that have been circulating online saying that government's true intention on the vaccine is to implant a microchip for them to track the location of its citizens.

While the widely shared videos has been making viral on the online community, none of the rumors are true.

Zizi Papacharissi, a communication and political science professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, said that social media has made it easy to amplify vaccine-related lies.Though companies like Facebook and YouTube have pledged to suppress such misinformation, she said that measures only happens after the materials have already reached viral status.

"Any action they take is retroactive,” she said. “ ... Putting something over it that says, ‘This is possibly misinformation,’ or taking the post down, it’s not really going to help. In fact, it might do the opposite. It might attract even more attention." - the professor said.

Various consipary theory videos have been circulating on various social media websites like facebook, instagram as well as tiktok.

Experts said that the video above uses selective editing and misleading text overlays to give the impression that the ApiJect’s radio-frequency identification technology would enable government officials to track the vaccinated population.

In reality, the optional chip that they are talking about is only placed on the syringe label - a fact that the spokespersons for ApiJect and the Department of Health and Human Services had confirmed. The chip will not be injected into the patient's body along with the vaccine nor would it allow the patient to be tracked in any way.

With these, Pfizer released their COVID-19 vaccine ingredients.

In the vaccine, there are one active ingredient called messenger RNA or mRNA. This contains genetic instructions for the corona-virus protein called spike. mRNA, once injected in the body will teach the patient's cells how to make protein that will trigger an immune reponse inside the body. That immune response which produces antibodies will then remain in the body and acts like a memory in our cells and will be activated once the real virus enters the our body.

Pfizer’s vaccine also contains nine other ingredients. Four of them are lipids that comes together to form a protective bubble around the mRNA

  • (4-hydroxybutyl)azanediyl)bis(hexane-6,1-diyl)bis (ALC-3015); (2- hexyldecanoate),
  • 2-[(polyethylene glycol)-2000]-N,N-ditetradecylacetamide (ALC-0159); 1,
  • 2-distearoyl-snglycero-3-phosphocholine (DPSC);
  • cholesterol.

The vaccine also includes sucrose (sugar) that keeps the nano particles from clumping up when they're on the frozen stage.

The vaccine also contains four salts ingredients: potassium chloride, monobasic potassium phosphate, basic sodium phosphate dihydrate and sodium chloride.

Furthermore, Pfizer’s director of global media relations, Jerica Pitts, said that these ingredients are diluted with water and salt before injections.

None of the said ingredients contains or resemble a microchip.
