Nina Ellaine Dizon, the founder and chief executive officer of the Colourette Cosmetics, made a rounds online after she made a twitter post looking for the Philippine President - "Where is the President?", her twitter post which contains only one hashtag is enough to cause online commotion after the pro and anti-government shared their opinions too. The local cosmetics brand's CEO made the rant amid the pittyful images of different provinces of the country surfaced online due to the Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco).
With the attack to the president, the administration's supporters flocked on her social media account. Below are some of the replies of the her twitter post from both sides. The cosmetic line owner's original tweet was posted on the same day when the president addresses the nation on a six minute taped speech explaining why he cannot be physically present on the typhoon's affected areas.

"It's not that I am at a distance from you. Gusto kong pumunta doon, makipaglangoy sa inyo. Ang problema pinipigilan ako kasi daw pag namatay ako isa lang ang Presidente. Sabi ko may Vice President naman. Wala silang sinasagot," - the president said.

English translation: "It's not that I am at a distance from you. I wanted to go there, to swim with all of you. The problem is I was prohibited because if I die, there is only one President. I said there is the Vice President. They didn't respond."

The president still eloborated the details that despite his desire to visit his affected countrymen, he was guarded by the PSG members and his doctor. "Binabawalan ako ng nagbabantay sa akin, PSG, doktor. Hindi ako makalabas. Sabi ko gusto ko magpakita sa tao. Ang sabi nila bantayan 'yung pagkatao ko," pointing to his chest. "Kasi ako ang Presidente."

English translation: I was prohibited to go out by the PSG and my doctor. I cannot go out. I said I want to show up in the public. They said I needed to be protected because I was the President.

Meanwhile, the former president protocol officer, Jasmin Egan, had posted this on her facebook account.

I think its stupid that #NasaanAngPangulo trends every single time a typhoon hits our country. Sa tingin nyo ba gagalaw...

Posted by Egan Jasmin on Thursday, November 12, 2020
The CEO even dared her bashers saying that she will cancel herself all orders from DDS customers who purchased from 11.11 event. Just to show her commitment to her words, she bravely responded to one of her customers saying that he is not a loss on her company. Some of the twitter showed their sympathy on the brave business owner. It appears that the Colourette Cosmetics is one hundred percent owned by Nina Ellaine Dizon after seeing her posting government rants while tagging along the cosmetic brand.

video scandal baranggay captain dasmarinas cavite

Apparently, right after the barangay meeting which was done via the Zoom meeting application, the barangay chairman of Dasmarinas City at Cavite forgot to turn off the one of the two gadgets that he used during the meeting.

According to the Barangay Fatima SK Chairman Jamil Ibardolaza, the barangay captain used a laptop and a cellphone during the council meeting. After the meeting ended, the chairman closed his laptop but had forgot that his cellphone was still broadcasting, leaving the whole council to watch the erotic scene live.

"Bale dalawa kasi 'yung device na nagamit n'ya daw, 'yung isa laptop, 'yung isa ay phone and then gagawin na nila ang act na 'yun. Tinakpan n'ya si laptop then nakalimutan niya na patay sa cellphone kaya na broadcast," - the SK Chairman said.

With the scandalous incident, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Department was prompted to make an investigation regarding the unethical behavior of the barangay officials.

"If true, this is unbecoming of an elected government official. Tinitiyak po naming iimbestigahan ang insidenting ito at pananagutin ang barangay captain ng kung anong karampatang parusa ng batas sa inasal niya," - The DILG Undersecretary and Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya said.

The spokesperson further said that the DILG investigation team is mandated to submit their investigation result in the soonest time possible in order to decide the liabilities of the barangay officials on the disturbing video.

Searching the videos on the internet, we have seen the blurred version of it. Since we do not agree on the distribution of it - and watching of it, we have stopped to use our google ninja ability to search for the uncut version.

Meanwhile, the SK Chairman further said that the whole barangay had made a signature campaign in order to change the leadership of their barangay .

UPDATE:

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla announced that the baranggay captain and her appointed treasurer had already resigned from their post.

Bong Revilla Files Resolution Number 410

Philippine Senator Bong Revilla filed Senate Resolution Number 410 which aims to impose taxes on digital businesses that has been raking up billions of pesos from the Filipino market.

The filing of the resolution came day after the Albay Representative Joey Salceda proposed to impose government tax to these international online businesses, the Albay congressman is the chairman of the ways and means committee of the House of Representatives.

The congressman is pushing for taxation laws on digital services aimed specifically to video and music streaming apps subscriptions, advertisements on social media sites, online sales platforms.

On a media interview, Salceda said that this new tax measures will be called "Netflix tax," "Facebook ads tax," and "Lazada tax,".

According to estimate, around 120 billion pesos will be earned by the Philippine government once this measure be implemented.

Senator Revilla stated that this digital taxes were already being implemented on variuos technologically-advanced countries such as Norway, Australia, Japan, France, South Korea, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia. The senator said that these countries have their own version of this dicital service tax laws.

"We need to embrace the digital revolution of our time, and to comprehensively review and update our existing tax laws regarding digital economy," - the lawmaker at the upper house said.

According to statista.com through theur research department, the country will have an estimated 296 thousands active subscriber on video streaming site netflix.

The senator said that while the local online businesses have been already paying up taxes on the government, the multinational corporations were not covered by our taxation laws. This companies which are far more technological advance has a wide range of coverage were able to evade our taxation laws because of the lack of laws to control them.

"We need to embrace the digital revolution of our time, and to comprehensively review and update our existing tax laws regarding digital economy," Revilla said.

Upon researching, we have found that Lazada - a company owned by Alibaba has been paying taxes on the Philippine government. We at the anyare.com cannot however find any information if Google and Netflix are paying taxes on the local government. Though we are aware that Google has their own remote office here in the country, but we cannot verify whether all Google ads spent by the Filipino people have local tax or not, same goes to the Netflix subscriptions.

If this new tax law be come into a reality, will the prices on these platforms also be affected? Will these businesses pass the tax by our government to the end users?
